Unlike other cities in Italy, you need to dig a little to find the wonders in Milan, as it doesn't boast as many tourist, sightseeing attractions as the likes of Venice, Rome or Pisa. Whilst we used this city break as an opportunity to soak up the food and atmosphere of Milan, we also planned a few trips to significant locations, so here are my hits and misses for some of the picturesque sights in Milan.

It really seems as though Barcelona has something for everyone, whether you're a history buff, an architect fanatic or just really love paella, this city has so much to do it can be difficult to narrow down which sights are really worth it when you have limited time in the city. Although we didn't visit EVERYWHERE in Barcelona we did make the most of our 5 days in the city, so here is a list of the best sights that are really worth hype, how to make the most of them and which attractions you shouldn't waste your time on.
Barcelona has 9 beaches, totalling in around 5 kilometers of sandy paradise, however these are saturated with tourists, vendors selling fake goods and 'salesmen' endlessly roaming the beaches shouting "SANGRIA, MOJITOS" in the hope you'll buy their €5 lemonade. Although each beach differs slightly, here are a few basic tips which will save you some money and keep your belongings safe in this busy tourist attraction.
The capital of Germany. Rich in culture and history, as well as coffee shops, galleries and naughty back street alleys. But what's really worth a visit, and what's better left 'unsaid'? Read our guide to the hits and misses of one of our favourite cities - Berlin.
Fresh faced and rosy cheek-ed, we stepped off the plane at Schoenefeld to the sub zero frost with high hopes of being both inspired and humbled. A hybrid of past and future, Berlin honours everything of its controversial history and celebrates its bright future, with numerous memorials and museums as well as state of the contemporary galleries and architectural works of art. It can be overwhelming to anticipate visiting EVERYTHING in Berlin but here's a basic outline to a day in the capital of Germany.
Honestly I’d go back to Reykjavik purely to visit the Blue Lagoon. I adore spas, pampering and thermal pools (check out the Budapest thermal baths 101 ), and this is one of the most beautiful of the outdoor baths I’ve visited - unsurprising as it is one of the 25 wonders of the world. Despite the breathtakingly low outdoor temperatures, the water is satisfyingly hot approx, 37-39°C, and its hard not to feel at peace in this place, surrounded by the picturesque snow topped hills and illuminous blue water (they don't call it the 'blue' lagoon for no reason). With free face mud to smother and a swim up bar, it’s easy to spend a whole day in the lagoon with an on-site hotel, restaurant and treatments, so book your tickets and look forward to a day of bliss.
