Milan is one of the more modern cities of Italy, it is a great place to visit to shop, eat and enjoy good wine as it is still host to traditional Italian cuisine and culture. We've put together a guide for some spots to try food and drink in Milan whilst wandering around this metropolitan city.
Bar Duomo
A small restaurant in the centre with a breath-taking view of the Duomo, this is a great spot for drinks during the sunset and facing the cathedral. We ate here during the evening as there was a reasonable a set-menu for pasta or pizza with a drink, and although it is lovely to eat outside in this beautiful setting, the food was just average for the price we paid. I would recommend walking the 5/10 minutes to my favourite wine bar/restaurant Signorvino.

This wine restaurant was our favourite place to eat and drink in Milan. A huge beautiful bar decorated in old stone, which is a shop at the front of the building and merges into a intimate restaurant/bar at the back. The wine menu is huge here and surprisingly really cheap, whilst the food was a little pricey it was 100% worth it, with authentic Italian food that was really well done. We visited this place both in the evening for dinner and during the day for sharing platters and more wine, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is visiting Milan.
10/10 TripAdvisor Link Luini - Best savory pastries in Milan
A perfect place for a quick lunch snack, Luini is famous for its Panzerotti, a small doughy calzone with either savory or sweet fillings, known as little fried pillows. These are really cheap at this bakery, which is probably why there is constant queue leading all the way down the street just to get hold of them. We grabbed a bag of these and took them to the fountain at Sforza Castle to enjoy in the sun.
9/10 TripAdvisor Link Pina Cafè
Tucked behind the Duomo cathedral, this cafe has great outdoor seating to enjoy a coffee and pastry with a great view. Although the drinks here are slightly pricey, it is unsurprising while being so close to the vast cathedral and a view of the square. There are also hundreds of high-street stores nearby to the cafe so it's a good place to start your morning before a shopping spree!
7/10 Trip Advisor Link ODStore Duomo
An ENORMOUS sweet and chocolate store, OD Milan is situated behind the Duomo Cathedral and has several floors full of italian and international sweets and candies. In addition to all their sweet goodies, they also have a vast collection of pastries for sale in their store which are great to grab and try whilst you're in Milan. Although there is no-where to stay inside and eat in the shop, there are so many different things to try in here it's worth buying some and taking them home or to the park to snack on during the day.
